Phase 1
Eight winners received an equal share of the $800,000 prize pool.
Phase 2
Four Phase 2 winners received an equal share of the $4 million prize pool and were exclusively invited to participate in Phase 3.
Phase 3
The first-place prize of $3 million was awarded to University of Pittsburgh Department of Urology and the second-place prize of $1.6 million was awarded to Juniper Biomedical. A total of $400,000 in interim prizes were awarded.
Advancing to future phases
Phases 2 and 3 of the Neuromod Prize were open exclusively to the winners named in previous phases. In Phases 2 and 3, the competition provided technical assistance and additional non-monetary resources — for example, mentorship, government feedback, networking opportunities — to help teams accelerate and develop their solutions.
